Time Travel at Penllergare this Summer!

2nd July 2018 News 0

New for 2018!  History comes alive at Penllergare for the summer holidays!

Travel back in time! Join a medieval knight, Roman soldier, Greek Hoplite, or World War 1 soldier for the day and experience life in their time!

Suitable for children aged 6-12, the history days bring armour, weapons and artefacts for your children to experience first hand. Drama, role-play and hands-on activities will enthuse your child about their past.

Based in our Woodland Centre at Penllergare Valley Woods, with the woodland as a back-drop for outdoor activities, these exciting and educational activity days are taught by two experienced primary teachers with a passion for experience-based learning.  Each day will cover a different period in history, so your child can choose the one which most interests them or they can turn into a seasoned time-traveller and take part in all five!

Monday 30th July 10am-3pm: Medieval Day

Thursday 2nd August 10am-3pm: Roman Day

Monday 6th August 10am-3pm: Ancient Greek Day

Thursday 9th August 10am-3pm: World War 1 Day

Meet in the main car park at Penllergare Valley Woods (by the back of the Coffee Shop) by 10am where the children will be collected for a short walk over to the Woodland Centre to start the day.

Please provide your child with drinks, snacks, and a packed lunch, as well as suitable clothing for the weather on the day as the activities will take place outside as much as possible.

ADVANCED BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL! Please contact Pat Holt on 07946 280 593 or patholt1@me.com to book.

Please note that these days are run by a private company not by the Penllergare Trust, so you need to contact them direct to book.

As always, the Penllergare Coffee Shop will be open from 10am-4pm, so parents can treat themselves to a sneaky slice of cake while their kids are off time-travelling!
