Thank you to Keith Clements, our long standing Volunteer Ranger for donating a sapling Weymouth Pine (Pinus strobus) grown from seed. The seeds were taken from the parent tree at Penllergare Valley Woods, and this is the only sapling that germinated out of 60, thus preserving the species from extinction at Valley Woods. Gower College Marketing Students Volunteering April 2015

Group Volunteering at Penllergare Valley Woods

Only Wednesday, but we’ve already hosted 4 separate groups of volunteers at Valley Woods this week. We’ve had plumbing, electrical and marketing students from nearby Gower College for their Welsh Baccalaureate Community Challenge plus students from LRC Training.  They have worked hard clearing some pathways, and also brought in wheelbarrow loads of leaf mulch for the woodland garden…
