Here at Penllergare we are encouraging people to Engage with Nature as a part of a new project funded by the UK Government.
Last month volunteers joined us to help plant a willow tunnel that will connect our new Woodland Centre gardens to the our Wildwood Activity Area. These new spaces have given visitors and the local community the chance alike to connect with nature and to experience the well-being benefits that the Penllergare Valley Woods have to offer.
As a part of the project local volunteers also had the opportunity to learn more about the nature on their doorstep by helping to enhance and improve the habitat for otters and water voles on site.
So keep an eye out on our social media about opportunities for you, your family and friends to get involved and to engage with nature.
The support from the UK Government through the Shared Prosperity Third Sector grant has been invaluable in supporting the volunteers and community members to engage with nature.
