Get Involved & Support the Woods

Penllergare Valley Woods is a unique, historic landscape rescued and restored by the community, for the community. We receive no public funding for our day-to-day running costs, meaning every single path maintained, tree planted, and historic feature restored relies entirely on the dedication of people like you.

Whether you have a few hours a week to spare, want to support us financially, or simply want to meet like-minded people who share a passion for heritage and nature, there are so many ways to join our family.

Ways to Get Involved

• Volunteer: Join our volunteer days on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays. Tasks range from gardening and horticultural work in the Walled Garden to trail maintenance and path patrolling. As a thank you, volunteers receive free parking, a hot drink, and a teacake!Get Volunteering →

• Attend Events: Come along to our guided walks, family activities, and seasonal events to learn more about the history, flora, and fauna of Valley Woods.View Upcoming Events →
• Visit and Support: Entry to the woods is completely free. You can support us simply by visiting! Car parking is just £3 for up to three hours or £4 all day (located right off Junction 47 of the M4), with all proceeds going directly back into conserving this historic woodland.
