The Spirit of D-Day 2026 Event – Saturday 6th June
On Saturday 6th June, the Penllergare Trust will be hosting the Spirit of D-Day 2026 Event to commemorate the role Penllergare House played in the preparations for the D-Day landings and the US 5th Engineers Special Brigade who were based there as their Headquarters.

Gotta Catch Em All! New Pokemon Go Route for Half-Term
New Pokemon Go Route created for this half-term – Why not get out there into the woods and catch em all! A new Pokemon Go Route has been created to encourage all those budding Pokemon trainers to go out into nature in search of their Pokemon. The route takes in the surroundings of Carriage Drive, the Old Mill Site, Upper Lake and Visitor Centre in a loop around the Woods.

Important Notice: Bank Holiday Monday
It is a lovely sunny Bank Holiday and a great day to come and enjoy the Woods. It is going to be a hot day and week ahead, so make sure that you drink plenty and make the most of the shade. However appealing it might seem as a way to cool down, you must not climb on or around the waterfall and certainly not jump from it. It is very dangerous with hidden dangers. Be safe and don’t enter the lakes and rivers around the site too. Just a gentle reminder that no fires or camping are allowed in the woods.

Work Takes Place On The Upper Lake
Over the last couple of weeks you may have noticed a lot of activity on the Upper Lake. The contractors who were working on the Lake with their amazing machines were removing a non -native invasive weed called Parrots Feather, which would have eventually covered the lake if it was not dealt with.
