Special Habitats
Penllergare Valley Woods boosts over 250 acres of ancient woodlands, wood pastures, open heathland, two stunning lakes and the river Llan running right through it.
In the Spring and Summer the woods are full of bluebells and wood anemones. In Autumn the valley is a blaze with colour.

Wildlife
The woods are alive with birdsong throughout the Spring & Summer with it being the home for many migratory visitors such as Willow Warblers, Whitethroats and Black Caps.
Our river and lakes are fished by Kingfishers, Dippers and Otters who are passing through. The waters are home for the increasing rare and mysterious European Eel.
The evening skies are full of bats on the wing including Daubenton Bats fishing on the Upper Lake.
