The Penllergare Trust are happy to announce that Penllergare Valley Woods has been awarded the internationally renowned Green Flag status again this year and that we have also been recognised as a Green Heritage Site for the second year running.
Now in its third decade, the Green Flag Award recognises well-managed parks and green spaces in 20 countries around the world.
In Wales, the awards scheme is run by Keep Wales Tidy. Lucy Prisk, Green Flag Coordinator for Keep Wales Tidy said:
“We’re thrilled to see 315 green spaces in Wales achieving the prestigious Green Flag status, which is testament to the dedication and hard work of hundreds of staff and volunteers.
“Quality green spaces play a vital role in the physical and mental well-being of people across Wales, and to be recognised as among the best in the world is a huge achievement – Congratulations!”
In November of last year, Penllergare was also awarded Green Flag Best Promotion of Heritage site in the UK.
We could not achieve if it was not for the amazing work and efforts of our volunteers and staff.
Thank you everyone for keeping the green flag flying high here.
