Celebrate World Fungi Day with a free fun(gi) day out for all the family on Saturday 10th October 2026!

Join us on Saturday 10th October as we celebrate the fascinating world of fungi.

From creative crafts and inspiring displays to a fungi talk and guided walk through the woods, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Come along, discover more about the incredible fungi that grow all around us, and enjoy a wonderful autumn day in the woods.

Most of the festival takes place at the Woodland Centre, Penllergare Valley Woods, which you can see here.

Woodland Centre

11 am – 11.30 am Fungi Talk
Discover more about the wonderful world of fungi in this fascinating talk.

11.30 am – 12.30 pm Fungi Walk in the Woods
Join us for a guided fungi walk through the woods, discovering the fascinating fungi around us, their role in the ecosystem, and how you can get involved in citizen science by helping to record and monitor them.
Booking is essential – Book here 
Please note: Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, who will also need a ticket.

Pop into Y Siop, next to the Coffee Shop, where our fabulous artisans will be selling a small selection of fungi-themed goods.

Entry to the festival is free. Booking is essential for the Fungi Walk.
