A common catch phrase for the environmental movement has been “Think Global, Act Local.” Although this sometimes seems hard to do with limited resources, we at Penllergare are striving to protect this green oasis in North Swansea as well as contributing positively to global issues. Our 275 Acre site absorbs around 350 tonnes of CO2 every year!

Woodland Rangers Activity Day – Tuesday 26th October
This half-term why not join us for a day of family fun and children’s activities at Penllergare Valley Woods Have you ever wanted to go on a bug hunt or even make a home for the little minibeasts? How about making your own dreamcatcher or knowing what that bird is you have you seen flying about the Woods? Perhaps you want to carve a spooky pumpkin or spot a bat. Well all of that is possible on our Woodland Rangers Activity Day this half-term.

Planting for the Future
Penllergare’s Heritage Orchard -Planting for the Future – Saving the Past. Penllergare’s Heritage Orchard is really starting to take shape. The volunteers have done an amazing job of clearing, setting up and planting the site. The new orchard is planted with Welsh and rare varieties of apples and other fruits, protecting them for the future and providing wonderful habitat for pollinators.
