Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at Penllergare Valley Woods. Their time, skills and support help us open, maintain, restore and conserve the woodland for everyone to enjoy.
From gardening and conservation to helping in the Coffee Shop and Y Siop, there are lots of ways to get involved!

What better way to get out in the fresh air, meet like-minded people and make a difference to a special place?
Training, uniform and equipment are provided, and while you are working we offer free parking, a hot drink and a toasted teacake.
Any time you can spare makes a difference! We’re always looking for help with the following:
Y Coed Coffee Shop
Monday–Sunday: 9:45am–4:00pm
Y Siop
Tuesday–Sunday: 11:00am–3:00pm
Gardening & Woodland Maintenance
Monday: 8:30am–12:30pm
Tuesday: 8:00am–1:00pm
Thursday: 9:30am–2:30pm
Conservation
Once a month on a Sunday. Forthcoming dates are here: 10:00am–12:00pm

Please note: Volunteers must be aged 18 or over. Under-18s can litter pick if accompanied by an adult.
Penllergare Valley Woods is the perfect spot for team building or a charity day.
We accommodate corporate groups of up to 12 to help out with gardening and maintenance. We have welcomed teams from Admiral, Capita, DVLA, EE, HSBC and O2.
In 2016, our volunteers were recognised with The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, equivalent to an MBE. In 2023, the Trust and our volunteers achieved Investing in Volunteers status, a national quality standard recognising our commitment to volunteering.
Our volunteers also play a part in attaining Baner Werdd status.
