Penllergare Valley Woods Retains Prestigious Green Flag Award for 2026

Penllergare Valley Woods is proudly flying the Green Flag once again after being recognised among the UK’s best green spaces for 2026.

Environmental charity Keep Wales Tidy announced that a record-breaking 330 parks and green spaces across Wales have achieved the high standards required to receive the prestigious Green Flag Award this year.

Penllergare Valley Woods is one of just 93 sites in Wales to receive full Green Flag Award status, recognising its high standards of safety, cleanliness, accessibility, environmental management and visitor experience.

 

A Collective Achievement

The award reflects the year-round commitment of everyone who helps care for the historic valley woods.

General Manager Stuart Rice said:

“Retaining the Green Flag is a fantastic achievement and reflects the dedication of our volunteers, staff and trustees, who all play an important part in caring for these woods. We’re also incredibly grateful to our visitors and local community, whose support makes this work possible. This award belongs to everyone who helps protect and enjoy this special place.”

An International Standard

The Green Flag Award is recognised in more than 20 countries and is the international benchmark for well-managed parks and green spaces.
